Tumsong

Tumsong is a village near Jore bunglow in the Darjeeling district. A temple, a sacred abode of the Hindu goddess Tamsa Devi, graced a steep hillside. In 1867, J.A. Wernicke sowed the seeds of the Tumsong Tea Garden, encircling the temple with verdant tea plants. The local people were allowed to continue their pilgrimage to the goddess. Tumsong has magnificent views of Kangchenjunga.
